India now Nigeria’s biggest crude oil buyer –Buhari

Buhari was speaking at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, when he received Letters of Credence from the High Commissioner of India to Nigeria, Mr Abhay Thakur.

The President noted, “Our two countries are very close.

“India has helped Nigeria in many ways, and we are very grateful. In trade, you are, today, our biggest customer in crude oil purchase.”

He also recalled his days at the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, India, in 1973, saying that both countries had worked closely for decades.

He added, “I want you to maintain the standard we have attained, and improve on it.”

The management of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, has finally confirmed that three out of the four students, who died at the Sunshine Castle Hostel, Ihiagwa, after allegedly taking tramadol and Indian hemp, were its students. The Public Relations Officer, FUTO, Uche Nwelue, said after investigation, the university was able to identify three of the victims as students of the university. At least 17 men including a woman were reportedly nailed to crosses in the Philippines in an act of devotion to re-enact the crucifixion of Jesus on Good Friday. In San Fernando City, Pampanga province, hundreds of tourists watched in shock as actors dressed as Roman soldiers hammered four-inch nails through the hands and feet of Filipinos into a wooden cross for the 33rd time. “I thought they wouldn’t be nailed but they were really nailed, and it was for me a great event to see it live,” said German tourist Johann Tenken. Devotees, including 58-year old Ruben Enaje who has performed the act 33 times, believe their penance will wash away their sins, cure illness and lead to blessings.
