Osun communities to benefit from Oyetola's mining project work

The Osun State governor, Mr.  Gboyega Oyetola, has promised to make mining of mineral resources found in the state work for the development of the people and the host communities.
He made the promise while declaring open a 5-day training programme tagged extension services to artisanal and small scale miners sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development in Osogbo, the state capital.
Governor Oyetola said rejuvenation of the mining sector of the state economy is a major cardinal programme of his administration.
Represented by the Executive Secretary, Office of the Forestry and Natural Resources, Mr. Simeon Lanlehin, the governor said his interest in mining sector is based on its pontentials for a great prosperity multiplier and huge labour employer.

At least 17 men including a woman were reportedly nailed to crosses in the Philippines in an act of devotion to re-enact the crucifixion of Jesus on Good Friday. In San Fernando City, Pampanga province, hundreds of tourists watched in shock as actors dressed as Roman soldiers hammered four-inch nails through the hands and feet of Filipinos into a wooden cross for the 33rd time. “I thought they wouldn’t be nailed but they were really nailed, and it was for me a great event to see it live,” said German tourist Johann Tenken. Devotees, including 58-year old Ruben Enaje who has performed the act 33 times, believe their penance will wash away their sins, cure illness and lead to blessings. The management of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, has finally confirmed that three out of the four students, who died at the Sunshine Castle Hostel, Ihiagwa, after allegedly taking tramadol and Indian hemp, were its students.
