A South African rape victim was allegedly denied justice and the case dropped in spite of evidence to the contrary.
The woman was allegedly raped by her ex-boyfriend who is on parole for murder. She did the rape kit after the assault to prove he raped her. She also opened a case against him and was assured that she had every evidence needed to prove her claims.
During the period the case was in court, the alleged rapist tried every means possible to intimidate her into silence. He harassed her and he even tried to run her down with his car. When she reported, the authorities didn't give it the level of seriousness it deserved.
But she was eventually denied justice and the case was dropped allegedly "because she didn't seem like a victim when she was testifying."
Mrs Sekwane, a friend of the victim, brought the case to Twitter in an attempt to try to get justice for her friend.
She tweeted:
A friend was raped by an ex boyfriend. She did the rape kit after the assault nd opened a case against him. This ex is on parole for murder. The trial date was last week Wednesday. Today the case was dropped because she didn't seem like a victim when she was testifying

The prosecutor told her a month ago that the case was solid but 2day she says it's got holes.
She claimed the d88 was damaged from the rain, apparently where they keep dockets rain gets in somehow.
This guy after being released on bail harassed her, he almost ran her over with his car.
When she went to get a protection order they gave her a mediation form, like seriously she was raped by the guy now almost killed by him nd they want her to sit down with him, really!!!
What pains me is that she did everything by the book but yet the justice system failed her. Why is it during rape cases you can't bring your own counsel??? The state lawyers are always looking for an easy way out. It's not fair being a woman in SA.
